Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter, born March 26, 1991, often referred to professionally by the name Ari Lennox, hails from Washington, D.C. and is the first female artist to be signed with J. Cole's Dreamville Records label. She released her first EP for the label on Oct. 21 2016 with the title Pho. It was then that she gained recognition. Shea Butter Baby her debut album was released on May 7, 2019. Ari Lennox first uploaded songs online in the year 2012. Her debut album Ariography as well as her debut mixtape in 2013 the mixtape Five Finger Discount. In 2014, Ari Lennox dropped her single Bound and her mixtape, which she released herself, Five Finger Discount. In the year 2015, she performed on Omen's Elephant Eyes Album, which came out on the 21st July. it out on 21st July. In the following year, her music was circulating all over the Dreamville group as J. Cole wanted her to work with him on some possible references for Rihanna. She was officially signed with Dreamville Records on 8 December. Backseat was a track she performed together with Cozz on The Revenge of the Dreamers II collaboration album. On the 21st of October in 2016, her EP Pho was released. Ari Lennox performed the song Change by J. Cole as well as opening The 4 Your Eyez Only Tour 2017 in which she was supported by EarthGang. In 2018, Ari Lennox performed on two tracks with EarthGang and EarthGang, on Nothing but the Best, and Bas on Icarus. On the 16th of July in 2018, Ari Lennox released the first single, Whipped Cream from her debut album Shea Butter Baby with an accompanied music video on the 5th of September. Then, in November, she released two singles, forty Shades of Choke & Grampa. Two more singles were released by her on 11/13 with the titles Pedigree and One. She then appeared in the Creed II soundtrack with Cole on a track entitled Shea Butter Baby on November 16 and released as a single in February 2019 for her debut album the same title. In February 2019, the music video for the song was released. The track has garnered over 3 million YouTube views within a week. She was part of the 6LACK's From East Atlanta With Love Tour during December 2018.
